Plain-English guide

How Cardano Governance Fits Together

Cardano governance lets the community review and decide on changes to the ecosystem. FuegoIQ focuses on read-only transparency: explaining actions, showing sourced context, and helping users understand what is known, what is pending, and where to look next.

ADA holders

Education
ADA holders are the base of governance participation. They may delegate voting power to a DRep, vote directly where supported by wallets, or choose options such as abstain or no confidence. This page does not provide wallet functionality.

DReps

Education
DReps review governance actions and vote using delegated stake. Good DRep research often looks at rationale, participation, conflicts, treasury impact, and clarity of reasoning.

Stake Pool Operators

Education
SPOs operate network infrastructure and have a governance role in selected protocol-level decisions. FuegoIQ will keep SPO views source-driven and read-only.

Constitutional Committee

Education
The committee helps assess constitutional alignment and guardrail context for actions where that review matters.

Governance Action Types

Treasury withdrawals

Read-only
Requests to withdraw ADA from the treasury. These may affect treasury headroom and Net Change Limit modelling when amounts are safely sourced.

Parameter changes

Read-only
Proposed changes to protocol parameters. These require careful technical context and sourced threshold information.

Hard fork initiation

Read-only
Actions related to protocol upgrades. These are high-context decisions where SPO, DRep, and committee roles can matter.

Constitutional actions

Read-only
Actions tied to constitutional governance, guardrails, or committee review.

Information actions

Read-only
Governance signals that may not directly change protocol state but can still guide community coordination.

Voting And Delegation

Voting power can be delegated to DReps, and different governance action types can involve different thresholds and governance bodies. FuegoIQ can help users inspect source-backed context, but it does not cast votes, connect wallets, submit proposals, or store delegation choices.
